Wave Energy Scotland is driving the development of wave energy technology in the biggest research and development programme ever seen in the sector.
As a Scottish public body, Wave Energy Scotland (WES) complies with the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act, which came fully into force in January 2005.
This Act provides a right of access to information held by public bodies. It is enforced by the Office of the Scottish Information Commissioner who has the necessary powers to regulate compliance.
The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 requires Scottish public authorities to produce and maintain a publication scheme. Authorities are under a legal obligation to:
Publish the classes of information that they make routinely available
Tell the public how to access the information and what it might cost.
